Theme: Technology
Intro: In the world we live in today we are very dependent in technology. Space satellites that have helped people to explore far into the galaxy, to cellphones that have helped us to communicate better. Technology has also put many countries to almost destroy one another with nuclear weapons.
Thesis: Technology has also given us the power to destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons.
Body Paragraph 1:
Technological innovation: Nuclear Weapons
Important during a specific time period: During the second World War the atomic bomb that was dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States ended the war.
Positive and/or negative effects: President Truman did well in dropping the atomic bomb on Japan because it saved many lives by ending the war faster. However, the atomic bomb also caused some negative events like the invasion of Iraq by the United States.
Body Paragraph 2:
Technological innovation: Space Satellites
Important during a specific time period: The space satellites firstly began when the satellite Sputrick was launched into space by Russia.
Positive and/or negative effects: Satellites allow cellphones to communicate with anyone around the world because of the satellites that transmit the signals. Satellites are the most reliable and can someday be useful to save the planet. Space Satellites also allow everyone to communicate making the planet a global society.
Conclusion: These technologies have shaped the planet. The atomic bomb and other nuclear weapons have put the planet into a panic state. However, space satellites have helped us communicate better and have helped everyone understand the earth better.
